My comments about whites are just admissions that our own culture is often total shit. If we’re going to be honest, we have to be honest about ourselves. I’ve been around, so when I come back, the typical white (and black, for that matter) American arrogance appalls me. I don’t worship Asia, hardly, but I’ll say this: we are not the bees’ knees, and any sense of “superiority” we maintain, racial or cultural, is often unfounded. Asians can be corrupt and inefficient, but they can also do shit like build a many-stop subway line through the heart of Seoul in a couple of years and get the damned thing done. It makes me weep to come back and see how retarded we are about much of what we do. We could learn from shit like that. Every single time I go to Asia, I come back humbled by just how damned impressive these people are in ways we could do well to emulate- and how absolutely like us they also are. And how they also fail at things that we do well. It gives me some perspective on America and whites as some kind of “specially destined” or skilled people. Anyone who travels often gets this impression. I see this endless racial conflict for what it is: A debilitating distraction.
